New Knee, New Me

Hey everybody!

I’m gearing up for something next week and I have to tell you, I’m a bit nervous. You see, my mom is having a knee replacement which means when she comes home I have been told that I need to be on my best behavior. No barking, no whining, no wanting in and out over and over, and no being sassy like I enjoy doing sometimes when I want attention. I don’t know how I’m gonna do it… I mean I’m a Basset Hound! Being sassy and vocal is in my blood but I will try my best. On the other hand, if I do end up messing up, I’ll just run because she won’t be able to catch me. She may bark but she doesn’t bite. I may have to give her an ultimatum though… I get to ride in her new car this weekend or else I’m not gonna be a good boy. We’ll see how she likes that idea. I hope her surgery goes well nonetheless. She has been hobbling around for far too long and when she heals she is going to take me for walks again! I’m not really sure what this thing they call a “knee” is though. I don’t think I have those things on my short, stubby little legs.
