When It Rains It Pours
Hey everybody! Sorry it's been so long, I've been busy being head of the household! My parents went away to Alaska for a couple weeks so I held down the fort while they were gone. I was very responsible while they were away. I went to work, got home and ate supper, and did my dishes like good boys do. When they hot home, I was so excited to see them I dashed out the door and howled at the top of my lungs! They were very excited to see me too. Every day they were gone I'd search out the window in hopes that they would return. After about two weeks of that I had given up hope and became very sad so you can imagine my excitement when I finally saw their car pull in the driveway. You know what the best part was about them coming back? They brought me a brand new toy! It's a squeaky rain boot that says 'Alaska' on it. I already tore the squeaker out of it but I still like to carry it around and show it off.
You know what else happened when they got back? Our washing machine broke! Luckily, we have a handy appliance person in our family to take care of it but then our air conditioning broke! I'm not kidding you when I say I was one hot dog. All I did was lay on the kitchen floor and eat ice cubes. Someone came to fix it pretty quickly, so I was back to being my sassy old self in no time. Then, wanna know what else happened? Our fridge broke! No more good snacks for me for a while- I'll just have to eat my boring old milk bones out of the box until we get it fixed. I guess the important thing is that all the stuff that's breaking is just "things." As long as I have my family and friends and a roof over my head, I can't complain. Some dogs aren't so lucky.
What really has me worried though, is now I'm hearing that there is a dognapper in town! Word on the street is, he'll come take you right out of your fence and make you fight with other dogs. As you all know, I'm a lover, not a fighter. I really hope they catch him soon and my fellow pooches get returned to their families. Then maybe my sister will quit hovering over me outside. I'm pretty independent and it's embarrassing when the neighbor dogs see me under constant supervision.
It seems like everything always happens at once. I see that all the time while working at my dad's shop with our customers. If you bring your car in for regular oil changes, they'll do a free check-over to let you know what's coming at you and avoid having to repair everything all at once, saving you money and allowing you to plan repairs instead of having surprises. So when your car isn't running right, don't get sad, call my dad! He's always here to help.
XOXO,
Drake
