Back When

I've added another ride to my summer bucket list! Sam almost has my dad's '48 Ford down to bare metal. For an older truck, it's in pretty solid condition! Pretty soon it will look just like it did in '48. I started thinking of how life would be back when this truck was born so I did a little homework. The average new car costed $1,250, NASCAR held it's first modified stock car race at Daytona, and Porsche was founded. You could also get a gallon of gas for 16 cents and a loaf of bread for 14 cents. Boy, my mom would love it if it only costed her 14 cents every time I stole a loaf of bread off the counter! I think it's safe to say a lot has changed in the past 70 years but one thing is for sure- you can't replace the feeling you get when you ride in an antique car or truck. That's why I'm so excited for my dad to take me on long cruises this summer!

Sloppy Kisses,

Carl
